Snow Ice Cream

Although we've had a generally mild spring this year, here in the Rocky Mountains we can still get snowfall through May (and sometimes even later).  Lately, whenever it snows, the kids and I make snow ice cream.  It's an easy and fun treat...

We leave cups or bowls outside on the deck to collect the fresh falling snow while we do our school work or read some stories.

Once enough snow has collected, I let the kids add a little bit of milk and sugar to their cups.. and.. voila!  Snow ice cream!  You can also add some vanilla extract and use condensed milk (instead of the milk and sugar).  We've also made a version with pudding and whipped cream.

It's a really easy snack and the kids look forward to it whenever we get snow..
