What We've Been Up to
I can't believe I haven't blogged all week, but work has been really busy lately. On one hand I would love to go back to being a stay-at-home Mom without the stresses of a full-time job at the same time, but I think right now the (financial) benefits of being able to earn a paycheck while staying home with my kids are pushing me to keep at it. Although I haven't been blogging, the kids have still been having a lot of fun this week. Here is what we've been up to...
Instead of a lot of organized art activities, I've been giving the girls different mediums to explore. The results are beautiful like the colorful Spring artwork above using dot-paint, stickers, colored tissue-paper, glue, markers, feathers, and watercolor paints. Here is some more painting the girls did:
They painted stamps and used them to make prints on their paper, which was a new way to paint for them.
The girls have been doing a lot of worksheets and other math/language reinforcement lately:
The girls did the pasting math activities above completely independently. I'm especially proud of E who did a great job counting the buttons and matching them to the right number all by herself (she usually needs a lot of help and direction, but lately she's really started mastering this type of work).
Since I've been so busy lately and have had zero time for planning new stuff for the kids, I've been pulling out old activities and just making things up as I go along. Sometimes this winging-it strategy ends up being the most fun:
We've also been reading a lot lately, and playing some other games and learning activities that I don't have pictures of. I guess I can't complain about the stress of work when I still get to spend so much time playing with my little ones.
