Making Tiny Clay Pumpkins

Last week, the twins (4 years old) and I made some cute little pumpkin decorations out of Crayola  Model Magic.  It was super easy and lots of fun.  Here's how we did it..

After mixing yellow and red clay to make orange, the girls rolled their clay pieces into balls.

Then the kids used craft sticks to make the creases along the edge of their pumpkins.  Pushing the craft stick into the clay along the line seemed to be the easiest way to accomplish this.

The final step was to push a finger into the top of the pumpkin to make a dent, and then place a little rolled green stem (also made of clay) into the top.

The tiny pumpkins turned out so cute!  I'd like the girls to incorporate them into a fall-themed fairy house scene later this week if we get to it.
