Five Minute Teddy Bear Cape

Today we read Corduroy, the classic story of a bear who goes in search of his missing button.  In less than 5 minutes, I put together some capes for their stuffed animals, so they can practice their buttoning skills...

I took a piece of felt, cut slits for armholes (just eyeballed it, no measuring necessary).  Then I sewed a large button on one corner and cut another slit in the opposite corner for the buttonhole.  After demonstrating to the girls how to put the cloaks on their bears, they could dress and undress them on their own.  This was so easy, and the kids had such a good time undressing their stuffed animals, giving them (pretend) baths, and then getting them dressed again.
